A very nice pair of Meiji period Japanese Satsuma vases produced for the export market in the fourth quarter of the 19th Century.
Profusely decorated with Japanese scenes featuring groups of ladies and noblemen in traditional dress.
Predominantly painted with iron red on cream ground with areas of gilding and finer black details.
In excellent condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age.
