An attractive kilim rug hand woven on a loom by the Shahsevan people of North-West Iran. Whilst now mostly settled, the Shahsevan originally lived a nomadic lifestyle.
The rug's design, features three large central medallions on cream coloured ground, surrounded by the main border with repeating star motifs symbolising happiness and fertility.
The design also features stylised bird and animal motifs.
Predominantly burnt orange, cream and blue colours.
