A good Victorian painting of cattle in a byre with bantam chickens, milking stool and various hand tools mounted in a gilt frame.
The artist has demonstrated excellent use of light with the cattle illuminated from the left-hand side of the painting. This is in stark contrasts to the area of deep shadow to the rear of the cattle and enables the viewer to 'see' beyond what is visible within the painting.
The painting is in excellent condition and is signed with the artists initials bottom left.
