A good late C19th French impressionist oil painting on canvas from a private collection in London.

Framed in a period natural timed frame, the painting depicts a costal landscape viewed from the water back towards the coast line with sail boats in the foreground.

The horizontal land mass in the mid ground is broken up by the vertical masts of the sail boats and creates real depth.

A colourful painting that makes good use of light.

Whilst unsigned, it is undoubtedly painted by a very skilled hand.
