C19th Oil on Canvas Portrait Painted by Rodolfo Agresti

A really wonderful 19th Century Oil on canvas painting by the Florentine artist Rodolfo Agresti signed top right.

The painting depicts a hotelier carrying traditional straw covered bottles of wine, an oil lamp and a bunch of keys around his waist. 

The facial features of this characterful individual have been particularly well painted.  Despite the subjects rugged appearance and lack of teeth, there is a softness to his face and a brightness to his eyes evoking feelings of warmth emanating from this very jovial character. 

The painting would work particularly well in a kitchen, dinning room or bar area and would no doubt prove to be a real talking point.
