A really atmospheric C20th oil on canvas painting by Susan Gibson.

Two black and white pointer dogs on a heather covered hillside, the lead dog 'on point'.  The hill gently dropping away behind the dogs to an expanse of water in the middle ground, further hills shrouded in mist in the background.

The dogs are depicted in stark contrast to the muted colours of the landscape behind them. The purple tones of the flowering heather in the foreground adding warmth to the painting.

The dogs are looking intently at the ground past the viewer and one can only imaging that they have become aware of a grouse or some other quarry sitting tight in the heather.

The painting signed by the artist bottom right.

A very striking piece of wall art that would look great in a multitude of settings.
