A well proportioned 19th Century ash and elm captains or smokers bow armchair.

The chair features a wide bow-back with deep scrolled crest rail supported by ring turned spindles above a well figured saddle seat. All raised on bulbous baluster shape legs united by a 'H' shape stretcher. The back of the seat stamped 'D C'.

The colour and patina from over 140 years of use is particularly good, with contrasting black and golden brown tones 

A good solid, comfortable chair in excellent condition.
