A good late C17th English joined oak armchair.
The slat back is at the perfect angle or 'rake' making this chair particularly comfortable to sit in. It also features a highly decorative, well carved, crest rail and shaped mid rail that adds considerably to it's aesthetic appeal.
The chair has down swept arms with nicely turned supports above a boarded seat. The turned front legs and square back legs all united by stretchers.
The chair is in a very good solid condition and is of excellent colour with beautifully contrasting black and gold tones. This is particularly prominent in the usual areas of wear namely, the seat, front seat rail and arm rests.
H: 100.5cm (seat height 43cm)
W: 55.9cm (width between arm supports 47.5cm)
D: 62cm (seat depth 39cm)
