A stunning 'best low' yew wood windsor chair by Allsop of Worksop. Nottinghamshire.
Featuring a very well figured burr yew 'Christmas tree' splat and under cut arm bow all raised on well turned legs united by a crinoline stretcher.
The chair really is of the best quality. It is incredibly well made. of excellent colour, and very comfortable.
An example of this model is featured in the book 'The English Regional Chair' by Bernard D Cotton Page 177.
This particular example is more rare having four spindles to either side of the splat.
