A fine 19th Century African Zulu war club or 'knobkerrie' with decorative wirework to the shaft.
At times of war the knobkerrie was carried by tribal warriors and used as a close quarter weapon.
Made from a dense hardwood this particular example is almost certainly hewn from indigenous black ironwood.
A fine example in very good condition.
L: 79.5cm
