A fine early 19th Century toleware tray beautifully decorated with agricultural workers sat under a tree in the fore-ground. Behind them, a gentleman farmer herding cattle on horseback along an escarpment. Below them, in the middle-ground, a lake with buildings on the far bank and wooded hills rising up to the sky in the distance.

A magnificent scene painted on black ground with gilt decoration to the boarder and rim of the tray of foliate design.

The tray in good condition with minor paint losses and wear consistent with age and use. A very decorative tray.
