A good colour 18th Century George III tripod table.
Constructed from oak with a circular three plank top and bird-cage mechanism, enabling the top to both rotate, and tilt into the vertical position for ease of storage when not in use.
The top is raised on a baluster shaped column with cabriole legs strengthened by it's original wrought-iron bracket to the underside.
A really attractive and well proportioned provincial tripod table with some historic worm holes to the feet, shrinkage splits to the column, and some staining to the top. However, the table is very stable and fully functional.
The patination from nearly 250 years of use is absolutely magnificent.
English Circa 1780
H: 74cm
D: 71cm (diameter of top)
