An early Brannam Barnstable pottery vase by Lauder Barum.
The vase of Art Nouveau style with three scrolling handles is decorated with fish carved into the clay. Green over chartreuse colour glazes have been used to produce a very refined finish typical of their later 19th Century pieces.
The vase is signed by Lauder Barum (rather than an impressed mark as found on their later pieces).
An incredibly attractive and well executed example of North Devon pottery in exceptionally good condition with no cracks or chips.
North Devon, Circa 1890
H: 16cm
C: 8.5cm (circumference at base) 7.5cm (circumference at top)
