A good 19th Century wood carving of two boys playing 'leap frog'.

Made from a single block of linden wood, the carving depicts a boy with collar length hair, shirt with rolled up sleeves and shorts vaulting another boy dressed in a shirt, trousers and waistcoat.

The finely carded folds in their cloths and waves in their hair beautifully capture the boys movement.

A wonderful sculpture that captures the freedom and joy of youth.
