A good Yorkshire prattware pottery Toby jug. The character holding a jug or pitcher in his left hand and a cup in his right hand. He is wearing a cobalt blue coat and yellow ochre breeches, colours derived from metallic oxides typically used in regional Yorkshire kilns.
This particular example includes a caryatid handle and spongeware decoration to the plinth base and the character's tricorn hat, features also typical of the Yorkshire region.
In excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
