Large carpet saddle bag cushion

A good hand knotted traditional carpet camel bag that would have originally been used by nomads to transport and store their belongings.

Whilst a functional necessity to tribal people living a nomadic lifestyle, bags such as these were also a cultural art form.

This particular camel bag has been produced from naturally dyed wool, predominantly subtle shades of red and brown. The design features ears of grain, symbolising birth and fertility and symbols of motherhood, which also symbolises the lady who wove the carpet. 

The bag has now been filled with a bespoke made feather cushion to add a high degree of luxury and comfort.
