A heavy original cast iron street sign 'Friars St.' with embossed lettering and decorative boarder.

Dating from the early part of the 20th Century, this was one of the many signs taken down and replaced by modern flat aluminium signs.

Despite calls to reverse the practice and restore the historical signs, many have been lost. However, whilst no longer in situ, this particular sign has survived in good undamaged condition.

From a private collection and most probably from Friars Street in Hereford.
