An original 'Williamsburg Restoration' hand tinted print titled 'July' after the original painting by Peter Casteels and subsequent copper engraving by Henry Fletcher.
The works were commissioned by Robert Furber, market Gardener in Kensington as part of a series of paintings 'Twelve Months of Flowers'. Each feature a large urn of flowers grown in Furber's nursery that were at their seasonal best during the particular month of the year, in this case July. The flowers are numbered and referenced within the engraving and dated 1730.
The print is in excellent condition, retains excellent colour and is framed in a good quality ebonised and parcel gilt frame with new mount board.
