Of ornithological interest, this well cast 19th Century European painted bronze, features, two woodpeckers on the stump of a tree.

The sculptor has very accurately captured the natural poise of woodpeckers foraging for insects. Their tails tight against the trunk of the tree to support themselves, their gaze intently focused.

A well proportioned life size bronze in excellent condition.
