Regency faux bois rosewood chiffonier bookcase with gilded details

A very rare faux bois Regency chiffonier bookcase with gilded details.

Comprising of three shelves above a deeper cupboard (with two storage sections) below. All very skillfully painted to create a 'faux bois' rosewood finish with parcel gilt details.

This rare piece is in remarkably good condition, particularly with regard to the ornate top section which despite some repairs, has survived with no losses. 

The shelf supports are a particularly nice feature including elements that have been turned and painted to represent classical columns in the Tuscan style.

Whilst perhaps of greatest value for its decorative appeal, this piece provides some useful storage space.
