A view over Painswick, painted from the Southwest of the village below Juniper Hill.
Properties on the hillside adjacent to Stamages lane. Above these, the spire of St Mary's Church breaks the horizon in the middle ground. The village framed by the skeletons of dead Elms in the for-ground. In the distance, Popes Wood to the left of the painting, and to the right-hand side of the painting, Saltridge Woods to the Northwest of Sheepscombe.
This moment in time beautifully captured in acrylics by the highly accomplished landscape artist Allan Laycock. Signed and dated 27th. July 1979 bottom right.
The artist would have completed this painting 'in-situ' and in one sitting.
Newly 'float mounted' in a bespoke ash wash frame with white fillet giving the painting a contemporary feel.
